SCCA Oak Tree Double Nationals

This past weekend I attended the Oak Tree Double Nationals, a SCCA event at VIR with Matt, Chris and Aaron. It was an awesome weekend. I got tons of sun and fresh air and we saw some good racing. I got some pictures of some of the more interesting cars there. I still think the orange Datsun Z was my favorite, damn sexy cars those are. I was also happy to see Abacus Racing, a local machine shop that I deal with, did well. I haven’t found results posted yet, but I’m fairly sure their GT2 class Porsche took first both days.

Nobody likes up to date blogs

Ok, so at this point every post I make on this thing is “Oh wow it’s been a while I should post more”

So I just discovered a VCD I made in highschool full of music videos. This will be a fun trip through my junior year of high school. I’ll include a tracklist (with commentary!). I had forgotten about some of these videos…

Okay so that wasn’t terribly exciting but still. I hadn’t seen some of these in a while and felt the need to share.

Nerd Band

So we were having a grande old time at A.C.’s christmas party. Nerds are bad at drums we discovered, but other than that it rocked Oh and I finally got to see this salt water shrimp everyone keeps talking about. I wasn’t that impressed :(. But check out that LED powered christmas tree!

Rockin Wagon

Two framed sheets of 4×6 lexan, 2 sawhorses, a loaded cooler, a watermellon, pasta salad, 4 folding chairs and a 10×10 shade tent. This is why I have a station wagon. It’s a party on wheels.

I was bringing some supplies to help out with ToxicBoy’s cookout. About 18 people showed up and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I think I’ve been inspired to throw a cookout of my own before the summer gets too hot.

Camping Practice

CG and I have been talking about a camping trip with a few other people possibly this upcoming Memorial day weekend. I was so excited that I setup my new tent in the front yard so I wouldn’t look like a bonehead later because I couldn’t figure it out. It seems like a fine tent.

Sick to Death

I had been complaining all week that I wasn’t feeling well, headache, sore muscles and such. Well Friday I finally felt bad enough I went home from work after lunch and layed down. Longcat decided to take advantage of this situation and use me as a vantage point from which to watch the television. I would be lying if I said I didn’t appreciate the company.

Saturday morning I felt like I had been hit by a Mack truck. Not so much as a cough or a runny nose or nausea, but I still had a headache plus some extra lightheadedness. I’m not sure what it was but I was feeling much better Saturday night on into this morning so I’m assuming it must be a virus of some sort or another. It’s nice to be able to think again after an entire week of having a wet towel in your head…
