Catching Up
by Nathan on May.12, 2009, under Uncategorized
So while the photo gallery is moderately up to date I’ve been slacking on the blog entries. Semester is over, I passed everything and now begins the summer of the Volvo Project. The motor is in the car, most of the wiring is done. I spent this evening installing the starter and the power steering pump and then made some modifications to the borrowed GM coil pack base so that it will output something the stock tachometer can read. That’s the one that says RPM on it for you non-car-people.

Danger to the Manifold
by Nathan on Feb.21, 2009, under Cars, school
I put some header paint on my new turbo manifold for the 240. I could have used the original but I was able to junkyard one of the later 740 turbo manifolds that flows a little better. I decided I had better paint it after Q took it to work and sandblasted it for me. One more piece of the puzzle is almost ready…
Trigger wheel attached!
by Nathan on Jan.11, 2009, under Uncategorized
I permanently attached the EDIS missing tooth wheel to the crank pully on the B230 this morning. When I made the adapter (out of a plumbing fitting) I made one too many passes with the lathe and it ended up a couple thousandths small, so I ended up using epoxy to affix it. It centered properly so hopefully everything works out okay. I thought the dial indicator on top was a nice touch.
Registered. For School. Again.
by Nathan on Jan.09, 2009, under Life, school
I’ve finally registered for classes. This time I managed to wait until 2 days before the first class meets, which is a new record for me. I was able to get two classes that I needed but I was really hoping to get 2 of my computer science classes out of the way. The two I really wanted are prerequisites for a whole host of other classes that are requirements. Unfortunately they were only offered at 1:30 PM which doesn’t exactly fit into my work schedule. I probably shouldn’t complain, 6 more credits out of my way.
New bike frame
by Nathan on Dec.28, 2008, under Cycling
I picked up a new bike frame Saturday. Frames my size are pretty rare and the price was right so I jumped on it. I’ll be shopping around for some eBay hardware to put on it i’m sure. Hopefully I can have it mobile by the spring.

Fuel filter mounted
by Nathan on Dec.26, 2008, under Uncategorized
I picked up the connectors for a GM fuel filter at the junkyard and modified the old bracket to hold the new fuel filter. I got some of the other odds and ends I needed for the wiring as well. It’s not much but at least it’s progress.
It’s not malt liquor! I swear!

So I tried some Schlitz beer today. That’s right they apparently make a beer and have done so for a long time. It was actually not too bad. Not my first choice but I’d certainly drink one if it was handed to me.

Not too shabby.
